Meetings of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council were held in the city of Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which included a high-level delegation. The Central Bank of Iraq participated in the meetings within the Finance and Banking Committee.
The bilateral meeting included the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Prof. Dr. Mr. Ammar Hamad Khalaf, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Ayman bin Mohammed al-Sayyari, The two parties agreed on joint cooperation in areas that are in the interest of the two countries, summed-up in exchanging experiences, training the staff of the Central Bank of Iraq, especially in the field of electronic payment, organizing workshops and development in scientific and technical aspects, opening branches of banks in the two countries, as well as supporting the private banking sector. At the end of the meeting, the two parties signed the minutes of the meeting, which will reflect positively on the interests of the two countries.
It is noteworthy that coordination between the two parties continues, and many previous meetings were held, and virtual meetings were also held earlier.
