The President meets the CBI Governor

His Excellency the President, Dr. Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, met Monday, His Excellency the CBI Governor, Mr. Mustafa Ghalib Mukheef, at Baghdad Palace.During the meeting, they discussed the monetary policy role in promoting financial inclusion in the country and its major development initiatives that contributed in moving the Iraqi economy wheel and provided thousands of job opportunities for various groups and segments of Iraqi society, as well as the bank's role in the plans to reform the banking system and its commitment to applying international standards in Anti Money laundering and terrorist financing, as well as its role in facing climate change and combating desertification.

His Excellency the Governor affirmed that the CBI faced the financial and economic challenges that the country witnessed through the pioneering role it played, indicating that the bank strengthened its relations with financial and banking institutions in the world in a way that serves Iraq interest and its financial system. The governor added that the Iraqi banking sector witnessed a great development in its work during the past years and gained international confidence, noting that Iraqi banks keep pace with the developments witnessed by the banking sector in the world.
