The CBI Governor meets the US ambassador in Iraq
His Excellency the CBI Governor of the, Mr. Mustafa Ghalib Mukheef, met the US Ambassador in Iraq, Mrs. Alina Romanowski, and her accompanying delegation. His Excellency reviewed the CBI efforts in supporting development through monetary policy tools and the direct impact of CBI initiatives on the banking sector, job creation and sustainability in addition to the efforts exerted in Anti-Money Laundering and terrorism financing by adopting an integrated legal system and applying it effectively to the sectors that may be used to commit it. His Excellency also discussed the importance of cooperation between the two countries with regard to monetary policy and the activation of financial instruments. The Ambassador affirmed her support for the CBI and its independence and contribution in training its employees through financial institutions that have continuous partnerships with the CBI, noting the success of the CBI policy and modern methods in managing it, which was obvious in the indicators of cash and gold reserves. The Governor thanked the US financial and banking institutions to protect the Iraqi financial and banking system and support them in applying the best international standards, as well as the support, technical expertise and training they provide to the CBI employees.
