CBI’s Deputy Governor Receives the Iraqi Women League Delegation

On behalf of the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mr. Mustafa Ghaleb Makhaif, Dr. Munther Al-Sheikhly, Deputy Governor, received the delegation of the Iraqi Women League, which included Mrs. Shamiran Morouqi and Miss Hind Karim.The delegation thanked the Central Bank for its initiative to honor Mrs. Mubajel Baban, a feminist activist and one of the establishing members of the Iraqi Women League in the 1950s and the first woman to be hired in the Central Bank of Iraq.The delegation praised the efforts of the Central Bank to empower women through several leadership positions in it for women.The Deputy Governor welcomed the delegation and presented the important roles that women play in the Central Bank, which distinguished by patience, accuracy, and dedication.The audience recalled Mrs. Mubajel Baban, who opened great opportunities for women to work in the bank.The delegation presented the shield of the League to Mr. Deputy.The meeting was attended by several general managers of the Central Bank of Iraq.Central Bank of IraqMedia Office22/10/2020
