CBI Governor meets the United States of America Ambassador

His Excellency the CBI Governor, Mr. Mustafa Ghalib Mukheef, met Tuesday, Her Excellency the Ambassador of the United States of America in Iraq, Ms. Alina Romanowski, during the meeting, they discussed bilateral cooperation aspects, development of work in the Iraqi banking sector, and international standards application to combat money laundering and terrorist financing. His Excellency said that the CBI attaches great importance to developing the banking sector and keeping pace with the developments it is witnessing globally, indicating that we have strengthened our external relations with banks of the world to serve the interest of Iraq.He added, that CBI faced the economic challenges that the country witnessed by launching a package of measures that contributed in moving the Iraqi economy wheel, indicating that our development initiatives that targeted vital and effective sectors in Iraqi society revived the economy and provided many job opportunities for different segments. Her Excellency the Ambassador praised the CBI procedures and its cooperation with international bodies and concerned organizations and the modern methods used in its work in terms of electronic technologies as well as keeping pace with the global development in the banking sector.
