CBI Governor meets the Italian Ambassador

His Excellency the CBI Governor, Mr. Mustafa Ghaleb Mukheef, met Wednesday, His Excellency the Italian Ambassador in Iraq, Mr. Maurizio Cricanti. During the meeting, they reviewed economic and banking relations, and strengthening them to serve the two countries interest, as well as solving problems that constrains this relationship and its progress. His Excellency the Ambassador extended an invitation to His Excellency the Governor to visit the Central Bank of Italy, and His Excellency promised to accept it in the coming days. On the other hand, His Excellency assured that the CBI has pursued during the past years an external policy of openness to its counterparts in the world to strengthen the relations of the Iraqi banking sector abroad indicating that the opening of branches of Iraqi banks abroad is a step forward, and evidence of the successes achieved by the banking sector in Iraq and the confidence it gained internationally.
