CBI's Governor opens Alaq Baghdad project

The Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Dr. Ali Mohsen Ismail opens on Saturday 18/8/2018 Alaq Baghdad project, which includes 21 squares on both sides of Karkh and Rusaf.

The inauguration ceremony included the first phase of eleven squares of the important squares of Baghdad. The Governor opened two squares, Jeddah and Al a'ama in the Kadhimiya area. The central inauguration ceremony was held in Al Wathiq Square in the presence of government, economic, academic and technical figures.

As well as that Alaq Baghdad project was supported by CBI and the Iraqi private banks league and funding from private banks and one government bank. The project was completed in record time.

The Governor stressed in the opening speech on the need for private banking sector participation to support government projects as it is the supportive and important side in the Iraqi economy.

The Governor noted that CBI supports such initiatives as it recently supported the Iraqi drama and other social initiatives through the Tamkeen Fund.
