Issuing and Vaults Directorate shall perform the following main tasks:
  • Forecast and meet the needs of the Iraqi currency and foreign currencies.
  • Execution of issuing Iraqi currency (paper and metal) after completion of the contract, including the selection of printing companies, and the operations ofshipping and delivery to the stores.
  • Using contemporary methods in managing currency stores, and achieving balance, in terms of fixed and variable costs, between the demand for currencyin large quantities or in smaller quantities.
  • Implementing the Fund's operations in terms of receive, payment, documentation, exchange of foreign currency notes, replacement of damaged currency, matching of fortified rooms and funds.
  • Implement currency counting and sorting transactions, and determine the canceling currency, using medium machines, and comprehensive machines, while working on the sustainability and maintenance of technical devices.
  • Implement the storage of Iraqi currency and foreign currencies, gold, and secretariats, as well as combating fraud and counterfeit.
  • Ensure the follow-up of banks, and the matching of counting and sorting, and conduct the inspection and monitoring scheduled, sudden, and random.
  • Implementing the accounting restrictions for the issuing accounts, treasury accounts and reporting the results to the accounting directorate.
