The Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq receives a delegation from the World Bank

His Excellency the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mr. Ali Mohsen Ismail, received the representative of the World Bank, who is in charge of preparing the financial sector assessment project in Iraq, Mr. Syed Mahdi Hassan and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, a summarized report of the financial reform program in Iraq was presented, both  parties discussed the issues like enhancing the bilateral cooperation, as well as the reform of the Iraqi banking sector, especially the governmental one, which represents 80% of the banking sector as a whole. The meeting also dealt with adopting the institutional governance, and organizing the structure of banking institutions. The two parties discussed opportunities to develop information technology of the government’s banking sector and using the comprehensive banking systems in Al-Rasheed and Al-Rafidian Banks.
