The Director-General of the Basra Branch Receives the Rector of Basra University

The Director-General of Basra Branch of the Central Bank of Iraq, Dr. Qassem Raheef Al-Fahd, received in his office the rector of the University of Basra, Dr. Saad Shaheen, to consolidate the relationship between the educational institution and the Central Bank of Iraq. The two parties discussed activating the role of the banking institution in the educational sector through providing the electronic payment card for the category of students enrolled in the universities of Basra Governorate, and disseminating the awareness of dealing via the electronic payment devices distributed in all colleges. The Director-General of the Basra branch emphasized the necessity of Iraqi universities to be a gateway to apply all the new systems that facilitating electronic payment transactions at all levels. For his part, rector of the university praised the role of the Central Bank of Iraq in developing the situation of the banking institution and its cooperation with state’s institutions.
