Based on the regulatory and supervisory role of the Central Bank of Iraq, it was decided not to conclude any new contracts for the deployment of cash withdrawal devices (POC), with electronic payment service providers / collectors submitting a timetable to the Central Bank that includes plans for their companies to deploy point-of-sale (POS) devices. In addition to the formation of a committee of electronic payment service providers and a supervisory membership from the Central Bank to provide recommendations through meetings held on a monthly or bi-monthly basis at the Central Bank’s headquarters to find appropriate solutions to the challenges and obstacles that stand in the way of deploying point-of-sale (POS) devices
