Tamkeen initiative for the production and planting of (200) thousand seedlings throughout Iraq

In order to protect the environment and address the negative effects of climate change (especially the problem of desertification) in the economic, social and health aspects. The Central Bank, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture / Department of Forestry and Combating Desertification launches initiative of producing and planting of (200) thousand seedlings throughout Iraq that funded by Tamkeen initiative and sponsored by the Central Bank and Iraqi banks and exchange companies.

The initiative includes the production of seedlings, afforestation, rehabilitation of the existing forests, as well as raising awareness among citizens to reduce climate change to cope with this phenomenon. It hoped that the project would start at the beginning of April 2019 and continue for two years.
